A little about me

I'm an illustrator based in Bratislava, Slovakia. I was trained at the excellent Edinburgh College of Art where I earned my degree in illustration. My work includes self-initiated and commissioned illustration work as well as a bit of graphic design. Interesting collaboration is one of the best things about being an illustrator because I get to create art for specific clients and for a specific purpose. Through my images I can help elevate somebody's business and set them apart from others, create a wedding invite that will mark the beginning of a marriage or just to liven up somebody's wall. Illustration is so versatile and it encourages me to become more versatile with every job that comes my way.

Even though, I am happy to try new topics and avenues in my work, I keep coming back to real stories and history. Non-fiction literature is a great source of inspiration and stories of real people, their testimonies and experiences stay central to my professional interests. They often include stories of courage and vision to change things for the better and for good and that is very much what it is all about, in my opinion.

Additional changes after the illustration is finished

Changes to handmade work sometimes require a complete redrafting of the image as:

-       the changes can influence composition

-       the requirements for changes could be such that a completely new image is required (in that case              you can commission a completely new illustration for a full price)

Changes are charged by the additional time spent on them and the price includes

- assessment of the change requirements - problem solving to make the changes as effective as possible

- consultation and proposal for the edited work

- time spent implementing the changes within the illustration

Licencing – Length and price of the licence given is determined individually with each commission. It depends on the type and the length of use of the illustration by the client. If you are commissioning the illustration simply to hang it on a wall then the licence will not increase the original price.

VARIABLES that can increase the price of an illustration are ADDITIONAL CHANGES and LICENsING.
